“SEO-Keyword Importance for Success”

I am very wrapped up in trying to finish my eBook so I will be somewhat sporadic on my posts. In my research I have uncovered some interesting tidbits of knowledge that I am incorporating into the book but I also wanted to share some of them here for my Blog readers.

Keywords are the most important aspect of SEO, if you get it wrong or try to skimp on keyword research your efforts are doomed. Keywords are what search engines are based on, and ultimately how surfers are led to a web page. In order for your web site to be found it must be optimized for keyword density and relevance.

Keyword relevance is a measurement of how well your keywords relate to the rest of your web site content. It is a way for the search engines to make sure that your keyword is not just a page of keywords compiled to get their attention.

Keyword density is the rate of how many keyword or keyword phrases appear on your web page. The keyword density is ranked per page not the overall site, so naturally some pages will rank higher than others.

The optimal density is thought to be around 3-5%. Keyword density is determined as a percentage of the overall content. If your page has 1000 words and 50 of them are your keywords, that would be a 5% keyword density.

SEO is an ever changing art form. Web masters must now take several other factors into consideration when optimizing a website. Google seems to be constantly changing what they are looking at. This includes keyword density, relevance and incoming links.

The density and quality of keywords is still important, but it seems that Google is now placing more emphasis on incoming links, and the rank of the page that is linking to you. Optimal results still seem to be coming from a keyword density of 3-5% with a mixture of incoming links from pages ranked 4 or higher.

With the proliferation of junk content, or spam content the search engines are changing the way they look at web pages. As a result we need to be aware of what is happening now in the keyword and SEO arena.

No matter what changes the bottom line is still the same. By producing quality original content, search engines will give you a better ranking for your chosen keywords and phrases.

I have devoted the first chapter of “The SEO Secret Revealed” to the subject of keyword research, it is absolutely the most important step in promoting your web site, or product.

That’s all for now, thanks for reading.
